Rotini Beef Chili

Rotini Beef Chili

1 pkg
(375 g)
rotini pasta
1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 onions, chopped
1 can (796 mL) tomatoes
1 cup (250 mL) pasta sauce – your favourite
1 cup (250 mL) water
2 tbsp (30 mL) chili powder
1 tbsp (15 mL) salt
1 can (540 mL) kidney beans, drained
  shredded Cheddar cheese to taste
  1. Cook Rotini according to package directions
  2. In a large saucepan, brown beef with garlic and onions
  3. Stir in tomatoes, breaking apart with fork
  4. Add pasta sauce, water, chili powder and salt
  5. Simmer covered for 35 minutes
  6. Add beans and cook 10 minutes longer
  7. Stir rotini into chili mixture, heat through
  8. Serve topped with cheddar cheese
